1.In a situation like this it is normal to sad, worried, confused, scared or angry.
Know that you are not alone and talk to someone you trust, like your parent or teacher so that you can help keep yourself and your school safe and healthy.
:-Ask questions,educate yourself and get information from reliable sources

2. Protect yourself and others
. Wash your hands frequently, always with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
. Remember to not touch your face.
. Do not share cups, eating utensils, food or drink with others.

3. Be a leader in keeping yourself, your school, family and community healthy.
. Share what your learn about preventing disease with your family and friends, especially with younger children.
. Model good practices such as sneezing or coughing into your elbow and washing your hands, especially for younger family members.

4. Don’t stigmatize your peers or tease anyone about being sick; remember that the virus doesn’t follow geographical boundaries, ethnicity, age or ability or gender.

5. Tell your parents, another family member, or a caregiver if you feel sick , and ask to stay home.

  1. Monitor your child’s health and keep them home from coaching if they are ill.
  2. Teach and model good hygiene practices for your child.
    a. Wash Your hand with soap and safe water frequently.
    b. If soap & water are not available use an alcohol based sanitizer (At least 60% Alcohol based)
    c. Cough & sneeze into a tissue or your elbow, avoid touch your face, eyes mouth & nose
  3. Encourage Your Child to ask questions and express their feelings with you and their teachers.
  4. Be communicate our teaching staff regarding unwanted actions and feelings of your child.

Origin, Symptoms, Types and Infected countries

COVID-19 cases in India is increasing day by day. As of 30 March 2020, COVID-19 cases rise to 1619 and 49 deaths and 150 recovered are reported according to the ministry of health and family welfare. Let us read in detail about coronavirus and list of the countries affected due to COVID-19.    

The first case of novel coronavirus was identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The WHO and other organisations named the new illness caused due to coronavirus is COVID-19 (Coronavirus disease 2019).

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi asked people to remain calm and advised to take some small yet important measures as self-protection from the coronavirus.

According to All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) the infection is spread through respiratory route i.e. respiratory droplets and direct human contact. Healthcare personnel (HCP) are at risk of infection through respiratory routes and direct contact with infectious patients. To prevent infection some standard recommendations include standard precautions, contact precautions and respiratory precautions. 

According to the World Health Organisation, the role of environmental contamination in the transmission of COVID-19 is not yet clear. A new protocol was published on 18 February, 2020 entitled “Surface sampling of coronavirus disease (COVID-19): A practical “how to” protocol for health care and public health professionals”.

Health experts suggested people should use masks and wash their hands. Novel coronavirus displayed several other symptoms according to China’s National Health Commission including breathing difficulty, chest tightness, and coughing. It is also said that the Chinese krait and the Chinese cobra may be the source of deadly coronavirus. The disease continues to spread in Asia and across the world. Not only this, Coronavirus can spread between people which raised the possibility of increased transmissions.

According to Zhong Nanshan, the head of the team set up by China’s National Health Commission told that coronavirus can spread from person to person and some new cases of the same have been found. Medical staff had also been infected. Earlier, it was traced by the health officials that the virus passed from animals to humans through seafood market.

According to WHO, a Chinese national travelling in Thailand was the first confirmed case of coronavirus infection outside China on 13 January 2020.

The statement was given by WHO is” The possibility of cases being identified in other countries was not unexpected, and reinforces why WHO calls for ongoing active monitoring and preparedness in other countries”.

The full genome of the new virus has been posted by the Chinese authorities and it has been named as ‘novel coronavirus 2019’ (mCoV-2019) according to the CDC situation summary.

What WHO recommendations for countries?

WHO encourages all countries to enhance their surveillance for severe acute respiratory infections (SARI), to carefully review any unusual patterns of SARI or pneumonia cases and to notify WHO of any suspected or confirmed case of infection with novel coronavirus.

Countries are encouraged to continue strengthening their preparedness for health emergencies in line with the International Health Regulations (2005).
